Arizona Film/Video Artists

NEW Deadline: April 1, 2010

Arizona State University’s Society for Art Video is seeking short film and video art by Arizona artists that critiques, pokes fun at, describes, or generally relates to current or past economic issues. Works from the open call will be screened along side works by internationally known artists, such as Tony Oursler & Constance De Jong, Piplotti Rist, Animal Charm and Paper Rad at Tempe’s MadCap Theater. Submitted works should not exceed 15 minutes in length.

Jurors:

Bruce Ferguson, Director Future Arts Research Bruce W. Ferguson is an independent curator and critic who has worked internationally for more than thirty years. He served formerly as the Dean, School of Arts at Colombia University, as President and Executive Director of the New York Academy of Art, and is the founding Director and first biennial curator of SITE Santa Fe, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Claire Schneider, Curator As senior curator of Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Arts, Schneider co-organized such highly praised exhibitions as Seriously Funny, Rewind Remix Replay: Design Museum & Everyday Experience, and Flip a Strip: New Ideas for Old. Schneider served for ten years as Curator at the Albright Knox Museum in Buffalo, NY.
